Kickresume Review (2026): Pricing, Free Plan, Pros and Cons
Kickresume review: is it legit, what the free plan includes, the $24, $54 and $96 plans, the 14-day refund rule and what Trustpilot users say.
Kickresume is a legitimate resume and cover letter builder run by Kickresume s.r.o. in Bratislava, Slovakia. As of October 2026 it has a free plan limited to four basic templates, and Premium costs $24 a month, $54 every three months or $96 a year. Trustpilot shows 4.6 from 3,906 reviews; some cite AI limits and slow support.
Verdict box (checked October 23, 2026)
Price and renewal: free plan $0; paid plans $24 a month, $54 every 3 months or $96 every 12 months, per Kickresume’s pricing page. All renew automatically, so cancel before the term ends (Terms of Use, last modified January 11, 2024).
Refund: a 14-day money-back guarantee for first-time subscribers, once per user. Otherwise its Terms call subscriptions “non-returnable.”
Free trial: none. The free plan has no time limit but leaves out the AI writer and ATS checker. Verified students and teachers can get Premium at no cost.
Where it applies: nowhere. It builds and tailors documents; you send every application yourself.
Best for: a designed resume and matching cover letter, students, and short searches. Not for sending many tailored applications.
Key takeaways
- Kickresume is a real company (Kickresume s.r.o.) with 4.6 on Trustpilot from 3,906 reviews as of October 2026.
- The free plan has four basic templates; the AI writer, ATS checker and 40+ templates need a paid plan.
- Paid plans renew automatically, and the only refund route is a 14-day guarantee for first-time subscribers.
- It does not apply for you: Kickresume builds and tailors documents, then you send each application.
What is Kickresume?
Kickresume is an online builder for resumes and cover letters, with an AI writer, resume tailoring, an ATS resume checker, a job board and a personal-website maker. Its Terms of Use name Kickresume s.r.o. as the owner, its contact page places the team in Bratislava, and its About page says it has run for “over a decade.”
As of October 2026, its pages list 40+ resume and 40+ cover letter templates on paid plans (4 basic ones free), AI writers it describes as GPT-4.1 powered, Resume Tailoring, a paid ATS Resume Checker and Career Map, a Job Board and AI Job Matcher, and mobile apps. It claims 8M+ job seekers, its own figure, which we could not verify.
A builder covers the documents. Tailoring the CV for each posting is the job of an AI resume builder, and finding roles and sending each application is the job of an AI job application bot. We compare the approaches below.
How does Kickresume work?
You pick a template, fill in or import your details, let the AI draft or tailor the text, then check and download it.
- Start. Choose a template or import from LinkedIn or a PDF, which the pricing page lists as a paid feature.
- Write. Type each section, add pre-written phrases (20,000 on the free plan) or let the paid AI Resume Writer draft the text. Our guide on how to write a resume covers what each section needs.
- Tailor. Upload a PDF or DOCX (up to 10 MB), paste a job ad or URL and pick Conservative, Balanced or Turbo. Kickresume says you get a “What we changed” panel and keep your original. It automates how to tailor your resume to a job description by hand.
- Check and download. Run the paid ATS Resume Checker, then download. Kickresume says downloads are unlimited on every plan.
Is Kickresume legit?
Yes. Kickresume is a real, operating company with a named owner (Kickresume s.r.o.) and published terms governed by Slovak law. On October 23, 2026 its Trustpilot profile, claimed since October 2016, showed 4.6 out of 5 from 3,906 reviews, with replies from Kickresume to 100% of negative reviews.
Legit does not mean flawless: the complaints are covered below. Section 6 of its Terms says your resume goes to recruitment partners only with your explicit consent.
Is Kickresume free?
Partly. Kickresume has a free plan with no time limit, but no free trial of the paid plans, and its comparison table marks the AI resume checker and the AI resume and cover letter writer as paid.
- Included (pricing page, October 2026): 4 basic resume templates, 4 matching cover letter templates, 1 website template, 20,000 pre-written phrases, 1,500+ examples and unlimited downloads. Design options are “limited” and fonts are capped at 2, against 26 on paid plans.
- No trial: the FAQ says “Kickresume is free as long as you don’t select paid customization options.” One tailoring is free, though: “The first tailoring is free.”
- Students and teachers: students who verify with ISIC, ITIC or UNiDAYS, and teachers, can get Premium at no cost. The pricing page gives no length; Resume Genius, a competitor, says six months.
Two competing reviews (Resume Genius and Final Round AI, read October 23, 2026) report free-plan limits the pricing page does not list: two skills, two work-experience entries and watermarked exports. We cannot confirm them without an account, so test the free editor with your real content. In an r/ResumeExperts thread, a commenter who recommended a different tool wrote in April 2026: “kickresume is decent but the free tier is limited.”
How much does Kickresume cost?
As of October 2026, Kickresume Premium costs $24 a month, $54 every three months (about $18 a month) or $96 every 12 months (about $8 a month), according to its pricing page.
| Plan | Price shown | Billed | Includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Never | 4 basic templates, unlimited downloads, no AI writer or ATS checker |
| Monthly | $24 a month | Every 30 days | 40+ templates, AI Writer, ATS Resume Checker, Career Map, LinkedIn and PDF import, apps, priority support |
| Quarterly | $18 a month | $54 every 90 days | Same; labeled “Most popular choice” |
| Yearly | $8 a month | $96 every 12 months | Same |
Prices as read on October 23, 2026. Kickresume shows the visitor’s currency: our US check showed dollars, and a European check showed euros with the same numbers (€24, €54, €96).
- Renewal: all paid plans renew automatically. Under its Terms (last modified January 11, 2024) “auto-renew is automatically selected,” and a price change takes effect at the next renewal, with advance notice.
- The math: three monthly payments cost $72 against $54 quarterly, and twelve cost $288 against $96 yearly. Kickresume’s own FAQ recommends the yearly plan and says most people need three to six months to find a job.
- One-off fee: human grammar correction in English or Spanish is $30 per resume. If you want a person to write the whole resume, our comparison of resume writing services vs AI covers what that costs.
For one application round, pay for one month, download within it, and cancel before it renews.
Can you get a refund, and how do you cancel Kickresume?
Only inside the first 14 days, and only once. The pricing page promises a “14-day money back guarantee, 0 questions asked” on every paid plan. Its Terms say a first-time subscriber “may” receive it, that it “applies only once to the same user,” and that “Subscriptions and one-off services are non-returnable.”
Kickresume is EU-based, and the Your Europe portal describes a 14-day right of withdrawal for online services, with an exception for services fully delivered after you expressly agreed to start at once. Kickresume’s Terms treat upgrading as that consent, so rely on the guarantee.
- Decide before the renewal date. You must cancel “prior to the end of your current subscription term,” and you keep the plan until the paid period ends.
- Cancel in your account. The Terms do not describe the steps, and reports conflict: Final Round AI’s review says cancellation “requires emailing support,” a September 2026 r/ResumeTips commenter said the dashboard has no cancel button, and an October 19, 2026 reply said it is two clicks after login. Check your account settings first; otherwise use the contact form’s Billing subject or hello@kickresume.com, the address the Terms list. Replies can take up to two working days, so keep the confirmation.
- Ask for the refund inside 14 days, saying it is your first subscription.
- Dispute it if refused. The FTC’s guide to free trials and auto-renewals says to dispute a charge you did not consent to with your card company right away.
Experiences differ. Trustpilot reviewers in July, September and October 2026 describe open refund requests or support that was reluctant to refund, while Trustpilot also shows that Kickresume replied to 100% of its negative reviews.
Kickresume reviews: what do users say on Trustpilot and Reddit?
Mostly positive. On October 23, 2026 Trustpilot showed 4.6 out of 5 from 3,906 reviews, and 92% are four or five stars. The criticism is concentrated: 202 reviews, about 5%, give one or two stars.
| Source (read October 23, 2026) | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Trustpilot | 75% five-star, 17% four-star, 3% three-star, 1% two-star, 4% one-star; Kickresume replied to 100% of negative reviews |
| Reddit, r/ResumeTips | A September 2026 thread, “Kickresume AI Resume Builder Reviews: Anyone Actually Using It?”; mixed replies, several of them promoting rival tools |
We read both Reddit threads on October 23, 2026; they are small and partly promotional, so treat them as anecdotes.
What reviewers like. Ease of use, fast results and polished layouts. One five-star reviewer in October 2026 wrote “The platform is easy to use and great for writing resumes and cover letters.”
What Reddit says. Commenters in the r/ResumeTips thread who liked Kickresume praised the templates and clean formatting, and several called the AI the weak part. One wrote in September 2026: “what you’re actually paying Kickresume for is the templates, and the two-column ones parse badly.”
What reviewers criticize in one- and two-star reviews from February to October 2026:
- AI limits. Reviewers in March and September 2026 say their AI use was cut off. One wrote “‘unlimited Premium’ is for 10 tailored resume before they ban you.” A September 2026 Reddit commenter said people hit an AI cap mid-cycle even on the $24 monthly plan. Kickresume’s homepage plan card says “Unlimited AI features” and the terms we read describe no cap, so ask support before you buy a long plan.
- Support. Reviewers in June, July, September and October 2026 report unanswered emails or little help.
- Editing limits. Reviewers in March, April and July 2026 say fonts, margins and spacing are hard to adjust.
- ATS and language. In February 2026 a reviewer wrote “The resumes I’m generating don’t seem to be ATS compliant, despite being marked as so.” Another, in March, says the analysis works only in English.
Kickresume pros and cons
Pros
- 40+ designed resume templates with matching cover letters
- A free plan with no time limit and unlimited downloads
- Tailoring with three levels, a change report and your original kept
- $8 a month on the yearly plan, and a student and teacher offer
Cons
- The monthly plan costs three times the yearly monthly rate
- Reviewers report AI cut-offs, support delays and hard-to-edit layouts
- It does not apply for you; the job board only adds listings to a tracker
Are Kickresume templates ATS-friendly?
Kickresume calls its templates ATS-friendly, but which one you pick still matters. Its homepage describes the “Smart” template as a “Professional single-column layout” and the “Green” template as having “clear skill bars.” A skill level drawn as a bar carries no words a parser can read, so choose a single-column layout and state skills, and levels if they matter, in text.
Run the finished file through a free, rule-based ATS resume checker, and read our guides to ATS resume format and ATS keywords before you send it.
Kickresume vs JobsAICopilot
JobsAICopilot is our product. Kickresume builds the document; JobsAICopilot searches for roles and applies, so they solve different problems. Kickresume prices below are as of October 2026.
| Kickresume | JobsAICopilot | |
|---|---|---|
| Main job | Build, design and tailor resumes and cover letters | Search company career pages, tailor each application and apply for you |
| Designed templates | 40+ resume and 40+ cover letter templates | Not a design tool; the AI Resume Creator writes a CV you review and download |
| Free option | Free plan with 4 basic templates | No free trial |
| Price | Free; $24 a month, $54 per 3 months or $96 per year | From $33.69/month (Premium); Elite $44.96/month |
| Tailoring | You paste each job ad and review the changes | Each application tailored: the cover letter on every plan, the CV too on Elite |
| Applying | You apply yourself | Up to 20 applications a day (Premium) or 50 (Elite), with Review Mode to approve each one |
| Job search | AI Job Matcher scores live openings against your resume | 600,000+ company career pages searched every day |
Where Kickresume is better: designed layouts and fonts, matching cover letters, a free plan that never expires, mobile apps, human proofreading ($30 per resume), a student offer, and $8 a month on the yearly plan against $33.69 a month and up.
Where JobsAICopilot fits: when volume is the bottleneck. It can apply automatically on official company career pages, not on job boards, so roles listed only on a board may be out of reach. It is not a layout designer, and it has no free plan.
Kickresume alternatives
If Kickresume is not the fit, these pages compare the options:

How we reviewed Kickresume
On October 23, 2026 we read Kickresume’s pricing, Terms of Use, contact, About, home, resume tailoring and AI Job Matcher pages, Trustpilot’s page with its one- and two-star filter, and two Reddit threads. We also read the Resume Genius and Final Round AI reviews, whose publishers compete with Kickresume, as we do. We did not buy a plan or open an account. Our editorial policy explains how we review competitors of JobsAICopilot.
Verdict: is Kickresume worth it? (October 2026)
Yes, for designed documents and a short search; no, as your only job-search tool. Kickresume is a legitimate builder with strong ratings, a free plan that never expires and a stated 14-day refund window. Its weak points are the AI and support complaints in recent reviews, and that it stops at the document.
Kickresume suits you if: you want a polished resume and cover letter quickly, you qualify for the student or teacher offer, you will take the $96 yearly plan or finish inside the 14-day guarantee, and you will send each application yourself.
Look elsewhere if: you want to apply to many jobs without doing each by hand, you depend on unlimited AI, or you want a low-cost month-to-month tool.

Yes. Kickresume is a real company, Kickresume s.r.o. of Bratislava, Slovakia, according to its Terms of Use and contact page. On October 23, 2026 Trustpilot showed 4.6 out of 5 from 3,906 reviews. Complaints concern AI usage limits, support replies and refunds rather than a fake service, so read the renewal and refund terms before you pay.
Is Kickresume free?
Partly. As of October 2026 the Kickresume free plan includes four basic resume templates, four matching cover letter templates and unlimited downloads, but not the AI writer or the ATS checker. There is no free trial of the paid plans. Verified students and teachers can get Premium at no cost, according to its pricing page.
How much does Kickresume cost?
As of October 2026, Kickresume Premium costs $24 a month, $54 every three months (about $18 a month) or $96 every 12 months (about $8 a month), according to its pricing page. All three renew automatically. The page showed dollars on a US check and euros, with the same numbers, on a European one. Human proofreading is $30 per resume.
Is Kickresume worth it?
It is worth it if you want a designed resume and cover letter and will use the free plan or the yearly $96 plan. It is a weaker fit for monthly use at $24, for heavy AI use if the limits some Trustpilot reviewers describe apply to you, and for sending many tailored applications. Prices are as of October 2026.
How do I cancel Kickresume and get a refund?
Cancel before the current term ends: according to its Terms of Use, monthly plans renew after 30 days, quarterly after 90 days and yearly after one year, and you keep access until the paid period ends. Refunds are limited to a 14-day money-back guarantee for first-time subscribers, once per user. Keep your cancellation confirmation, and dispute any charge you did not authorize with your card issuer.
How can I get Kickresume Premium for free?
Only through the student and teacher offer. As of October 2026, the Kickresume pricing page says students who prove their status with ISIC, ITIC or UNiDAYS get Premium at no cost, and it shows a separate option for teachers. It does not say how long the access lasts, so check the terms when you apply. There is no free trial for everyone else.
Can Kickresume apply to jobs for me?
No. As of October 2026 Kickresume builds and tailors resumes and cover letters, matches your resume to openings and lets you add jobs from its job board to a tracker, but you send every application yourself. An AI job application bot such as JobsAICopilot, our product, searches company career pages, tailors each application and applies for you, with Review Mode to approve each one.
What do Reddit and Trustpilot say about Kickresume?
Mostly positive, with specific complaints. On October 23, 2026 Trustpilot showed 4.6 out of 5 from 3,906 reviews, 75% of them five-star, with replies from Kickresume to 100% of negative reviews. Recent one- and two-star reviews mention AI usage limits, slow support, limited template editing and refunds. Commenters in a September 2026 r/ResumeTips thread praised the templates but called the AI the weak part.
